Today, Chief of Police Wayne Payne released an update on the Armed Robbery of the Wingate Motel by an unknown black male on November 24, 2011 at 0240 hours.

On November 24, 2011 at 0240 hours, D’Iberville Police Officers responded to the Wingate Motel at 12009 Indian River Road, D’Iberville, MS for an Armed Robbery.  Once officers were on scene, the night manager reported she was robbed by a black male wearing a dark blue knit stocking cap, gray hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and between 5’07” and 5’10” tall. The manager stated the suspect approached the motel counter and demanded the money from the cash drawer. The manager last saw the suspect fleeing the area on foot towards the D’Iberville Walmart. Lieutenant Terry Hines said the suspect made off with an unreleased amount of cash.  Lieutenant Hines said shortly after officers arrived on scene, a robbery at a Hancock County motel was reported and the description of the suspect matched the description of the black male from the Wingate robbery.

Lieutenant Hines said on November 29, 2011, investigators were able to recover video of the robbery at the Wingate Motel.  The video showed an unknown black male entered the motel wearing a dark colored stocking cap, gray hooded sweat shirt with Florida written in red letters and blue jeans.

The D’Iberville Police Department is currently investigating the homicide of three people whose bodies were found on October 5, 2011 inside their residence located on Seymour Ave. in D’Iberville, Miss.  The victims in this case were Rong Chen and his wife Mei Rong Li (both 40 years old), and another relative, Mei Jin Li (53 years old).  The married couple also owned and operated the Chinese Happiness restaurant, located on Central Avenue, just blocks away from their residence.  All three victims were stabbed to death and their bodies were discovered inside their house by a child who was returning from school.  Police believe the murder occurred sometime in the morning hours of October 5, after the children left for school.

A 20,000 dollar reward is being offered by the Harrison County Sheriff`s Dept for info leading to a conviction.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is seeking information regarding the murder of Angela Lizana, age 43 who lived on Moran Road in Harrison County.

On the night of September 12th or early morning of September 13th Angela was shot while answering someone at her carport door. Neighbors heard four shots, but did not call any information in. Angela was found the morning of the 13th by her mother.

Information is limited on leads at this time. It does not appear that robbery was the motive as prescription drugs and money were found in the household and on her person.

Capital Murder of Xavier Cortez Seales

Biloxi Police Department case number 09-019676

On 07 August 2009 at approximately 0438 hours the Biloxi Police Department responded to 2620 Lejeune Dr. reference to a possible shooting.  When officers arrived they found 38 year old B/M Xavier Seales lying deceased on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound.  During the course of the investigation it was discovered the suspect(s) had broken into the apartment through a locked window.  It does appear a struggle occurred between Seales and his attacker(s) prior to the shooting.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department was contacted on June 14, 2010 in reference to a Commercial Burglary on Highway 57.  On the weekend of June 13, 2010, MillerCo Inc. discovered someone had broke into a gate and cut the locks off metal storage containers that had major amounts of wire, tools and a Honda 4 Wheeler Recon 2002 2WD 250 stolen.  A list of the property taken is as follows:
